Romana Drdová, Diminik Gajarský, Richard Loskot, Martin Kohout a Viktorie Valocká. The finalists of the 28th year of the most prestigious Czech award for visual artists up to 35 years. Although each of them is preparing an independent project for this occasion, we can take their individual statements together as a probe into the thoughts of the emerging generation of artists about the challenges of today's world: across the whole spectrum of media from painting via film to installation.
The guest of the Jindřich Chalupecký Award 2017 is the Berlin-based artist Clemens von Wedemeyer. In his conceptual moving image works and audiovisual installations, Wedemeyer often works with (film) archives, historical and symbolic references while adding engaged commentaries which link the archival material to contemporary issues.

The exhibition was financially supported by City of Brno.
