For the very first time, the artworks by the 2011 finalists will be presented in public space in the spirit of art theorist and critic Jindřich Chalupecký who said that art is to be shown to people and people are to be shown to art. The finalists of the 22nd volume of the Jindřich Chalupecký Award will be introducedwithin the“5 finalists, 5 months, 5 places” accompanying event. In the course of five months, they will be presenting their works in various forms at five selected venues in the Czech Republic in five various ways.

The exhibition Finalists 2011 will be held from 4.11.2011 to 15.1.2012 in the DOX Centre for Contemporary Art in Prague. The award presentation ceremony will be held on November 25, 2011.

The 2011 Jindrich Chalupecky Award winner will receive:
- a cheque for 50.000 CZK from the Triga Patrons of Art Club
- a six-week scholarship in New York (including an exhibition in the Czech Center in New York)
- the amount of 100.000 CZK for the realization of an exhibition in the Vaclav Spala Gallery in Prague

For the very first time, the Publicity Award including the financial award of 30.000 CZK will be awarded by the TTV company. Moreover, a special Respekt Magazine Readers Award will be awarded as well.
